Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using AVM Unni Archives ("the archive", the website at avmunniarchives.com), you agree to these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Nature of the archive

The archive is a non-commercial educational and historical project that curates, digitises and contextualises rare material from Kerala's print, photographic and audiovisual past. Material published on the site falls into two categories: (a) reprints of primary-source articles, interviews, news reports, photographs and advertisements from named source publications, presented under the principles of fair use; and (b) original editorial commentary, biographical context and curatorial notes prepared by the archive team. The Sources page lists the principal publications represented in the archive.

Use of content

You are welcome to read, link to and share material from the archive for personal, educational and research purposes. When citing material from the archive in academic or journalistic work, please:

Bulk re-publication, mirroring, scraping, or use of material from the archive for commercial purposes is not permitted without prior written consent. You may not use the archive in any manner that infringes the rights of the original rights-holders.

Intellectual property and fair use

Copyright in primary-source material reproduced on the archive rests with the original publishers, authors, photographers and rights-holders. We reproduce that material under the principles of fair use: in non-substitutive form, with attribution, for educational and historical purposes, and without intent to compete with the market for the original work. Original editorial content prepared by the archive team — including curatorial notes, English summaries, and the design and organisation of the site — is © AVM Unni Archives.

Takedown and correction requests

If you are a rights-holder and you would like material removed, corrected, or more thoroughly credited, please write to us through the contact page. Please include (i) a description of the material in question and a link to the relevant page, (ii) a brief statement of your relationship to the rights, and (iii) the action you would like us to take. We act on good-faith requests promptly, typically within a few business days.

Advertising

The archive carries advertising delivered through Google AdSense in order to cover hosting and maintenance costs. Ads are not paid placements selected by the archive team, and their appearance next to any particular article does not imply endorsement of either the advertiser or the article. User responsibilities

You agree not to misuse the site, including by attempting to gain unauthorised access to any portion of it, interfering with its operation, or using automated tools to scrape content in violation of the section above. We reserve the right to restrict access to anyone who breaches these terms.

External links

Articles on the archive may link to external sites — including the websites of original source publications, related cultural institutions, and reference works. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of those sites.

Content accuracy

We make reasonable efforts to verify dates, bylines, attributions and historical details when preparing entries. However, much of the source material we work with is decades or centuries old and not always complete; transcriptions may contain errors and some details may be disputed by later scholarship. We welcome corrections from readers and rights-holders and will update entries promptly when better information is provided.

Limitation of liability

The archive is provided on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, AVM Unni Archives and its contributors disclaim all warranties, express or implied, and shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising out of your use of the site.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the terms were last revised. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising in connection with the archive shall, to the extent permitted by law, be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kerala.
